Transportation Improvement Plan
Another essential element to a Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). This is a list of upcoming transportation improvement projects for at least a four-year period. The TIP is developed in cooperation with the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) and local public transit providers.
The TIP contains capital and non-capital surface transportation projects, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, bridge projects, and safety projects. All projects listed in the TIP should be consistent with the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) and be fiscally constrained.
